Healing our Hearts and Changing the World Through Generosity (+ Free Session for You)
Let's celebrate our abundance together
Dear Friends!
You haven't heard from me for a while because I've been busy creating. And now finally it's finished: www.transformalife.co. (Please go and check it out :)
I'm super proud of it because even though I'm not a tech person (there is always so much resistance going into all the details of making a website look beautiful and clear and professional) this baby sprang into existence shortly after my birthday a couple of weeks ago. (thank you for the amazing support of my beloved Maurice and some beautiful friends)
I feel like celebrating!!!!
So that's why I want to gift a couple of free Coaching Sessions :). Simply pm me before the 10th of April and I will random draw two names and we arrange a time! It's the perfect opportunity to check out what an Embodiment Session looks like if you have been curious but too shy to book a Discovery Call with me. So please don't be shy, let's connect!
But now back to WHAT we are actually celebrating.
I'm amazed at how life can put us into positions in which we are given an opportunity to respond with a YES (or no) and how that can create ripple effects of goodness throughout the fabric of existence!
I never intended to ‘create’ a charity. I actually don't even like the word and sound of it, which is why I want to deep dive into our shadows around privilege, guilt and selfishness and the alchemy of it all in the next article. But for now…
Here is the story in a nutshell:
11 years ago when I was travelling through Rwanda as a backpacker and volunteer I was asked to sponsor someone's education.
Even though without stable income at the time, something in me simply said yes and it took me and Jonas (the person I sponsored) on a beautiful journey of opening our hearts, learning to trust each other and form a real bond. Slowly, step by step. (you can find more info on the website).
Somehow our story inspired others and attracted more willing hearts to sponsor children in need. To the point that we applied for charity status to make it more easy and professional for everyone involved. So this website is a celebration of a 11 year process of planting seeds of kindness and generosity! There are currently 24 children whose lives are being transformed through sponsorship. It brings me so much joy to see the photos showing the change in their faces. Hopefully now you understand why I feel like celebrating!
Look at Bruce for example
(he gave his permission to use his photos of course).
This was him before he got sponsored. His father abandoned the family and the three siblings had to survive by themselves in a house that was falling apart. There was no chance they could even think of going to school. Imagine being 15 years old and all of your precious life force energy, your potential goes towards survival and worrying and feeling hopeless because there is literally no future. No one cares. You are just one of many, a number in the slums.
Imagine the impact that would have on you. On how you show up in life. How you feel about yourself. How you think about others. The emotions of desperation and anger you carry inside. The freeze response in your body.
And then out of the blue someone reaches out says, hey, you are not nobody. You are somebody, you are worthy of support and opportunity. Here, I help you get out of the mud. I believe in you.
This is Bruce today:
Every time I look at this photo and see the spark and aliveness in his face, I get goosebumps and tears in my eyes (just as I'm writing this right now). It touches me so deep: my God, the power we have to impact each other’s lives! If only we really understood how far our generosity and kindness can reach: to the depths of the soul. It can literally mean the transformation of someone's life on all levels.
That's why we called our project ‘Transform A Life’ because it's more than just giving an opportunity to someone to go to school and get educated. It's giving them hope and affirming their worthiness. And by doing so planting seeds of love that spread all over. And that's how we transform the world we live in. One human to another.
What I find most surprising and therefore important to mention here, is that for me it has been a deeply spiritual journey of inquiry into my relationship with money, my hidden 'racist’ prejudices, my shadow of selfishness and other parts of me that felt very separate, entitled and better than.
I had always been a ‘good’ girl (trying to help others) so to discover all those shadows within me was confrontational and challenging and ultimately deeply healing.
It was a dismantling of my ego and many protective layers around my heart. A truly transformational process, which I'm very grateful for. And I do wish that to all of us: to truly be able to open our hearts and co-create a world we all want to live in.
I will share more about it in my next article as promised.
For now let me just ask you to have a look at the website and, if it feels good in your body, to donate whatever amount that you can! Or spread the word to people who might be touched by this and would like to help.
As the children are starting a new term in the beginning of April, it is a bit time sensitive so thank you in advance for taking action!!!
Much love,
Kasia
